What’s up with that?

Talk to me, Goose! Or, rather, I’ll talk to you (or FOR you, if you will). Just type or paste it in, and I’ll say it back to you in whichever voice you choose, or even your own.

In the search for a solution for an easy-to-use, high-quality, fast, and emotionally-rich text-to-speech tool, we were disappointed with what we found. Many of the tools were rigid in their design. They rendered voice poorly, with little intonation and emotion, or were slow and clunky.

Thus, Talk to Me, Goose! was born.

With more than dozens of voices to choose from, and even your own voice clone, when you need a “Wingman” to help, Talk to Me, Goose! is here.

Welcome Live Like Lou!

As we’ve allude for some time, we’ve been working really hard to build relationships that allow us to make Talk to Me, Goose! available to people living with speech disabilities for free. We can now announce that with our recent announcement with the Live Like Lou Foundation that Talk to Me, Goose! will be free for people living with ALS in the U.S. and Canada. If you want to take advantage of this program, reach out to the Live Like Lou Foundation to register to get unlimited access to Talk to Me, Goose!

Help Support the Live Like Lou Foundation

We’ve committed to raise $250,000 to support the Live Like Lou Foundation. If you’d like to contribute to this effort to provide Talk to Me, Goose! to people living with ALS for free, click here. We’ve also committed to share in any revenue in excess of expenses earned by Mundell Designs, LLC with Live Like Lou. So, any proceeds earned go to support our efforts to make this product available to people to reconnect them with their voice, to reconnect them with their loved ones, and to help them maintain their autonomy, agency and dignity as this disease strips so much away.

Some Big News!

We are happy to share that Talk to Me, Goose! has been shortlisted for the Zero Project Awards 2026!

This year’s awards focus on Accessibility, Information and Communication Technology, and Crisis Response, and our innovative work has earned recognition among 163 outstanding solutions, selected from 586 #ZeroCall26 nominations across 93 countries. We are proud to stand alongside organizations from every continent that are driving progress in disability inclusion.

Being shortlisted is a significant milestone for us, reflecting our commitment enabling people with speech disabilities, especially those of us living with ALS to reconnect with our voice, to reconnect with each other, and to reinfuse autonomy and agency in our ability to communicate. We look forward to the next stages: connecting with the global community, exchanging ideas, and learning from others.

The Zero Project’s selection process now continues and will involve hundreds of peer-review experts from around the world. We hope to be among this year’s Zero Project Awardees, which will be announced on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3rd).

Hey – Go Check Out Fable’s Adventures

We enjoyed the Story Builder feature so much that we carved it out and created a separate app, Fable’s Adventures, for everyone to enjoy. It’s a storytelling app for kids of all ages to create fun and engaging stories, illustrate them, and read them out in some of the most richly expressive voices available from the voice library. It’s available on iOS devices on the App Store. Check out Fable’s website, and go download the app. All proceeds from Fable’s Adventures go to support people living with ALS.

‘My beautiful girls,’ he said. It was the first time we had heard my husband, Darin, speak in his voice in over a year. His daughters (ages 3 and 6) had gotten accustomed to a robotic version, mostly communicating with a couple of words at a time. When his true voice spoke again, there weren’t many dry eyes in the room.

Talk to me, Goose! unlocked the means to use an AI voice clone created by ElevenLabs, along with Darin’s previously recorded voice banking messages so that when he talks, it’s really him or sounds just like him. Add to that the app’s Merlin capability to easily generate nuanced speech suggestions, and he can have real conversations again. The other night, he tried Story Mode, and got to tell his kids a bedtime story for the first time since losing his speech. Our three year old — was so young she doesn’t even remember daddy reading or telling her stories. Here’s her review: ‘I want to read that story again and a hundred hundred times again forever.’

This includes the Windows and Android platforms and new speech models coming from ElevenLabs that allow for even more expressive speech, and work we’re doing to build community. If you’re a person living with ALS in the U.S. or Canada, reach out to the Live Like Lou Foundation to take advantage of the program that we’ve established to make Talk to Me, Goose! to you for free.

If you are person living with ALS (a PALS), and you don’t yet have an ElevenLabs voice clone, we urge you to get one. We can work with you and the Live Like Lou Foundation to get one for free. Don’t forget, this application was built by a person living with ALS and their caregiver, (by a PALS/CALS team for a PALS).

If you’ve got an ElevenLabs voice clone, and you’re not a PALS, you can take advantage of our Wingman subscription at $4.99 per month. The Wingman subscription cost helps to offset our costs to serve the infrastructure for the application and all of the AI-enabled features.

If you do not have an ElevenLabs voice clone, you can still use Talk to Me, Goose! Our subscription models unlock access to a large library of voices to use. You can choose the approximate number of minutes per month that you need. See our subscription tiers here.

Uploading Your Banked Messages

If you’ve downloaded the app, and you’ve got pre-recorded messages stored on your computer’s hard drive, you can upload them directly into the app for playback on demand alongside speech that you generate in real time. To do so, log in here and follow the process! We’re very excited to have an integrated application for communication. Beyond Speech – Reconnect with People!

Beyond reconnecting with speech, it was clear that there is a need to reconnect with people too. In using an augmented and alternative communication solution there is an awkward pause in the flow of a conversation. You speak to me, and I type my response. It takes time. You tune out. You disengage. It’s awkward. How might we eliminate that awkward pause? Here’s where Talk to Me, Goose! is really special, in my opinion.

In the Top Gun movie, when Goose was gone, Merlin took his seat. Well, here we are. Merlin takes his seat once again. He’s here to help. He can take a few clicks – a topic area and a tone, and a few words to give you a suggestion of a full block of text to use in your response without all that typing. He’s here to be your Wingman and reduce all that typing. He’s here to reduce that awkward pause and allow you to reengage, to reconnect with people. We hope.

Reconnecting with people is also about reducing fatigue, speeding up communications and alleviating stress. We think Merlin does all that too. Give it a try. On the iPad, Merlin even learns with you over time, surfacing increasingly relevant phrases that are semantically similar to your own text for you to use in contextually aware ways.
